soto restaurant, hawksburn village, melbourne

We recently completed a project on the corner of Malvern and Williams rds, soto restaurant, which is a fine dining restaurant open from breakfast through to dinner… Gerard pinto (gerardpinto.com) designed the space, and alex earl lighting and furniture constructed many of the elements, including 15 metres of banquette seating in american oak veneered plywood.  The panelling on the bar front and huge door behind the service area was made on our cnc router, with metal components manufactured by the genius generally known as thomas burless, who works out of our workshop.  Lighting consists of three earl pinto leaf lights, with a large centre piece version of the design hovering above the communal table at the entrance.  We also made the street signage above the doorway, from american oak play and back-lit perspex.
